Birth and Postpartum Doula Services

What I offer ~

   Birth Doula:

Postpartum Doula: As a postpartum doula, I am there to care for the mother, baby and family in a way that is best suited to them.  This may include education and resources on issues such as breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum depression, as well as offer meal preparation, light house cleaning, and care of baby and/or siblings.  I am there to mother the mother, because as we all know, a happy and well cared for mother makes a happy family!

My philosophy
My philosophy is that every family unit is unique and each has their own set of needs and beliefs.  As a birth and postpartum doula, it is my job to educate and support the families to fit their needs and I am confident I am able to do that in a non-judgemental fashion.  The journey that is parenthood is filled with both endless questions and constant joys.  I am here to help answer your questions and witness your joyous moments!

Fees ~
Birth Doula fee: $500-800
Postpartum Doula fee: $16-$20/hour
(Because each family has different financial situation, I work on a sliding scale.  Please contact me if you have any questions regarding payment options.)

My bio ~
I have been working with families during pregnancy, birth and early postpartum for over 15 years.  After completing the birth doula training in 1996, I went on to study at the University of Oregon and received my degree in Women’s and Gender Studies in 2000.  In 2004, I co-founded Doulas Supporting Teens and until 2010 was the Development Director.  Currently, I work part time at the University of Oregon's Child and Family Center.  I live with my husband, 11 year old daughter, 8 year old son, and black lab Marley in the south hills of Eugene.
